Faster

And so the next project begins, a topic which I was somewhat hesitant to approach at first. Cars. I'll happily admit that I know nothing about cars, so the first thing to do was find a car that I found appealing. In the end I settled for a Citroen DS, early edition, because I felt that this is something I'd be able to tackle. Below are the plans for my Citroen DS which I've resized in Photoshop.

Above this is first scrap edition of modelling the car. Since taking this screenshot, the car has been restarted as I've learnt that building a whole heap of poly's without shaping them proves to be a problem later. It's harder to the shape the poly's around the blueprint when you have the chaos of many verticals surrounding the one you're trying to move. After learning this lesson, I've decided to start with the wheel of the car, and then work around the front.

Above is another WIP of the car at a later stage, at this point I'm much more comfortable with the car and am able to shape around the blueprints without making too many mistakes. I've also started to shape in the curve of the doors and then add the bumpers. The bumpers have proven to be a challenge and at first I'd struggled with the getting them to fit the edge of the car.
